During the BET Awards, we stopped on the red carpet to chat with one of your favorite rappers, Machine Gun Kelly!

DETAILS: Machine Gun Kelly Responds To Highline Ballroom Ban

We caught MGK right after his performance and found out that Waka Flocka Flame was meant to join him on stage, but was a no show due to some issues that MGK couldn’t reveal.

He did reveal Waka Flocka wasn’t in jail or any kind of legal trouble, so the resourceful emcee had his labelmate French Montana join him on stage instead.

Sadly, MGK has enough of his own legal troubles to deal with, including a lawsuit filed by a Miami bouncer after a scuffle and being banned from the occasional venue much to the disappointment of his fans.

But Machine Gun is not sweating it and already moving on to his next venture.

His main project for the time being is his image. He’s no longer interested in being labeled the “wild boy,” because as he puts it:

“I realize that people aren’t paying attention to how great of a rapper I am or as a lyricist etc. etc. because people only focus on antics that come with Machine Gun Kelly so I figured every time I f*ck up I’m going to drop content.”

Controversy is normally what gets the Ohio native the most attention, rather than his dope lyrics and talent as a musician.
