Shepard Fairey, the man who created the iconic Obama “Hope” poster, couldn’t put the paintbrush down when it came to the case of Trayvon Martin.

STORY: Are They Serious? More People Think Zimmerman Shot Trayvon In Self-Defense

Fairey is known for his amazing artwork and has continuously drawn inspiration from people who’ve made a significant difference in news and pop culture.

Commissioned by Ebony Magazine, Fairey created the piece a few months ago and will be featured in the magazine when it hits newsstands this week.

On the Trayvon painting, Fairey said:

“I have followed Trayvon’s case closely and I think any compassionate human being can relate to Trayvon as a brother or son and would want to see a thorough investigation into the killing of an unarmed person. In my portrait I wanted to emphasize Trayvon’s humanity as well as the public outcry for a just investigation into his death.”

For many of us, Trayvon’s story has touched the entire nation, sparking a creative revolution among artists and musicians alike.
