Halloween is quickly approaching! Everyone’s favorite time of year to dress up is once again upon us and as usual, people are eating it up. Every year, we see a lot of new trends and costumes go viral. People’s creativity, effort and execution all come into play and we end up with magic. This year isn’t any different than the ones that have come before it. In some cases, this year will just be a continuation of the last one or two.
In 2022, there was one celebrity who was the clear cut favorite costume.
Steve Harvey. The 67 year-old television host, producer, actor, and comedian was an overwhelming choice of many participants. Whether it’s his famous bald head, his unmistakable mustache or his sharp sense of style, people were spot on with their impersonations of him. People didn’t just stopping at dressing like him though. The ante was upped by women (especially high school girls) across the country.
In a trend that went viral stemming from TikTok, the ladies portrayed Steve Harvey the Family Feud game show host. They used a voiceover from an episode of the show where Steve posed the question “Name something you like yo’ girlfriend to do to your face.” As the contestants responded with the answer “Sit on it,” the person pretending to be Steve would get super excited in celebration of the answer. It didn’t end there. As the bell to indicate the answer would ring, the real celebration came. The girls then hit the splits to show how much they appreciated the answer. It was very simple but hysterical at the same time. It was so funny that some women decided to run it back last year and it seems like it will be a hot pick for this year too.
In addition to doing the Sit On It Challenge, people participated in bar crawls, threw full Steve Harvey themed parties and recorded hilarious scenes just for the sake of it.
