Yesterday afternoon, some of the most popular women in music gathered to celebrate their achievements at the 2012 Billboard Women In Music Luncheon.
While women like Carly Rae Jepsen and Ciara were recognized by Billboard, it was Katy Perry who shined by taking the title of 2012’s Woman Of The Year.

Even though the ‘Part Of Me’ singer was honored by the award, she told Jon Stewart that she felt differently about it:
“I felt like my year was last year … I thought my moment had passed.”
If anything, Katy dominated in music for both 2011 and 2012!
During her acceptance speech, she addressed being a role model, saying:
“I don’t really like to call myself a role model for my fans, but I hope I’m an inspiration, especially for young women.”

Carly Rae Jepsen, the woman behind the hit of the year ‘Call Me Maybe’, was also honored and said of the award:
“It was sort of the key to unlocking the rest of the world for me and was something that none of us were expecting.”
Ciara was also in attendance, sporting a curve hugging black leather dress, while Katy opted for a orange dress and Carly went with a shimmery cobal blue mini.
