So I flew out to Cali for the BET awards. My heart was heavy with the passing of Michael Jackson, my eyes heavier with only 2 hours of sleep in 24 hours. I arrived at the airport to have a wonderful conversation with Columbia recording artist Nikki Jean who sat down on the floor right next to me. If you don’t know who Nikki Jean is she’s an online superstar turned recording artist and is currently recording an album. As we line up to board the plane, I realize that Lyfe is sitting right behind me. A star studded ride to Cali. Dope.
I land in Cali and head directly to the Shrine auditorium to pick up my credentials and check out the rehearsals. Inside, we see a sea of celebrities, everyone from Jamie Fox, Jeremih, Fabolous, Tocarra, Eva and many more. I bumped into Stephen Hill who was busy making the rounds doing radio spots.
BET will be honoring MJ but the question everyone is wondering is will BET let Chris Brown perform during the tribute. I personally think no singer right now can do Michael Like Chris can. I think he’ll be perfect for it. Troubled star honoring the troubled legend.
The spots to be at last night was the Def Jam party. It was packed the line was off the chain and quickly shut down after a female screamed on a reality star, calling him a Reality B*tch! highlight of my night. Ron Artest, Player’s Circle and many more were in the building.
Another dope event to be at was the Rock and Roll Hip Hop Art Fest with Kim Porter. Diddy was in the building doing this thing. They even shared a little kiss. Nothing like the baby mama.
