We were all shocked to hear of actress Nia Long‘s pregnancy back a couple weeks ago, but it turns out no one was more surprised than Nia herself.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Nia revealed how she came to find out she was carrying her second child:

“I was supposed to go to Ghana to do a film and that’s when I found out I was pregnant. I had a doctor’s appointment to get the yellow fever shot and they were like, ‘Miss Long, we can’t give you a shot.'”

When informed of the news Nia said, “I almost fainted. It was the best moment and the sweetest surprise ever.”

Everything seems to be going well for the 40-year old “Mooz-lum” actress who is currently 5 months pregnant with pro basketball player Ime Udoka’s child. Nia recently showed off her baby bump at the BET Awards ’11 and while she’s on top of the world these days, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing during the pregnancy.

“I was so horribly sick for four and a half months” Nia lamented. “Now I have energy, besides a little heartburn here and there, and I’m doing excellent. The baby is huge!”

A huge baby must be affecting Nia’s appetite, right?

“I’m craving salt like crazy,” said Nia. “I’m usually more of a chocolate girl, but I haven’t been craving sweets.”

We’re glad Nia’s doing well and it certainly showed this past weekend’s BET AWards ’11 where Nia looked absolutely amazing.
