Ever felt like the wealthy in this country are getting away with everything and leaving everyone else to suffer? Well maybe it’s time to fight back! Tower Heist tells the story of a group of average workers who finally get pushed too far and hit the rich where it hurts them most: their wallets.
Tower Heist introduces us to the hard working staff of a high-rise apartment led by Josh (played by Ben Stiller). After being a victim of a Ponzi scheme, Josh assembles a heist team played by Eddie Murphy, Casey Affleck, Gabourey Sidibe, Michael Peña and Matthew Broderick to rob the wealthy businessman blind. Directed by Brett Ratner, the movie shows how the disgruntled bunch conspire a plan to rob his luxurious penthouse and grab a little payback! The movie brings comedy and suspense to a story we all wish would truly happen, and with a cast featuring some of the most hilarious actors in Hollywood, this is one plan that you know can’t go wrong.
But what’s got everyone buzzing is Eddie Murphy’s comeback to the big screen, and no, he won’t be playing a talking donkey this time! He’s back as Slide, a petty crook who the main character Josh turns to for help in planning their big heist. Whether you remember him from Saturday Night Live, The Nutty Professo, Coming To America, Beverly Hills Cop or Boomerang, little needs to be said about how many laughs Eddie has given us over the years, and don’t think for a second that he’s anywhere near finished. Teaming up with Ben Stiller (Meet The Parents, Zoolander) only sweetens the deal. Eddie Murphy has known how to bring on the laughs since some of us were kids, and he’s here to do it again.
