The first time we heard “Stay,” Tyrese’s first single off of his Open Invitation album, it was a soulful, somber slow jam.
For the remix though, Tyrese decided to switch things up. He left the soulful in the track but got rid of the somber.

He sped things up by adding live drums and a flip of a old-school sample to make the beat more jovial, and he got musical all-stars Faith Evans and Rick Ross to join him. The results end up being an awesome remix of the original.

The two singers share the majority of the track time, going back and forth singing, for the duration of the song, but then the bawse comes in at the end and with a fire verse.
The husky rapper spits: “It’s the slow-love-maker, straight back-breaker, credit-card-swiper, Louis Vuitton, Nike her, shoe game is Immaculate, that other boy be lacking, sucker.”

Tyrese’s fifth album, Open Invitation, was released back in November. It was the number one R&B album in the country, pushing over 81,000 units in its first week.
