In the world of guidettes and guidos, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is Queen.
The 4ft 11inch trash-talking, bronzed reality star, has charmed audience members with her sky-high poof, wild partying ways and love for sexy guidos and tan skin. Whether or not you’re a fan, it isn’t hard to admit that Snooki definitely knows how to have a good time.
So it should come as no surprise that Snooki is pregnant … Right?!
Nope! Not so much, As we earlier reported, Snooki is expecting her first child with boyfriend Jionni LaValle, as shocked as I was when the news first broke, I couldn’t fight the feeling that Snooki deserves a fair chance at being a good mom.
This thought came after viewing several blogs and media reports bashing the reality star for even thinking of conceiving another human being. A little harsh, but also a very valid point because of the name Snooki has made for herself in recent years.
Her wild partying, binge drinking and excessive “smushing” on MTV’s Jersey Shore has left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. So to find out she’s pregnant is not only a shock, but also a disgrace to many who view her as “Jersey trash.”
But Snooki is not trash, she’s 24 and she’s human.
Point blank, Snooki isn’t necessarily doing anything someone her age wouldn’t be doing, the only difference is her life is being video tapped, yours isn’t. She’s young and wants to have fun and does just that, which may be the reason why Jersey Shore has such a high success rate.
Trash talk or not, Snooki is laughing all the way to the bank raking in $60,000 in total for each Jersey Shore episode and public appearances. She has quite frankly turned her partying ways into a successful business venue that is sure to bring her many new opportunities in the future.
So why hate?
If given the opportunity, many of us would take the chance to get paid doing something we love. Like it or not, Snooki’s crazy attics make for good entertainment, the kind of entertainment that keeps us watching and makes her a pop culture icon.
So the fact that is she is pregnant should have nothing to do with her creditability towards being a good mother. There is no guidebook that explains the ins and outs of good parenting; it is an experience that is learned along the way. I’m quite sure Snooki, just like other reality-shows celebs such as Nicole Richie, will make a transformation into a great role model and mother.
I’m also pretty sure that many of us aren’t exactly saints, but that shouldn’t take away our right from becoming a respectable parent.
Snooki should be given a chance to redeem herself.
Instead of bashing her, we should be looking out for the next big thing she decides to pop up with, because baby or not, this guidette is here to stay!
