Welcome to Thursday! You know that this means you have officially gotten over the hump of the work week and you are just moments away from the weekend. Don’t get too excited just yet, you still have the entire day and tomorrow to get through, but hopefully we can show you a few cool things that you can do today that will give you that weekend feeling.

In today’s installment of Dollars & Sense we are focusing on the city of Cannes, in the south of France. It is Three Stacks Thursday after all and one thing you don’t have is a budget! Check it out below!

Visit The Cannes Film Festival:

This year is the festival’s 65th anniversary, and ever since its creation, the Festival de Cannes has remained faithful to its founding purpose: to draw attention to and raise the profile of films with the aim of contributing towards the development of cinema, boosting the film industry worldwide and celebrating cinema at an international level.  This year the festival is running from May 16th – 27th and will have tons of films and events to go to durig that time. Be prepared to rub elbows with the celebrity sect and the average joe alike, but remember to keep your cool, or you might not get invited back.

Visit The Musee des Beaux Arts:

Built in 1878, this magnificent private mansion houses a collection of more than 6000 works of art dating from the 17th Century to the 1940s. As well as work by French artists (including sculptures by Carpeaux and Rodin), the museum also boasts a fine collection of remarkably restored Flemish school paintings. Two exhibition spaces are entirely devoted to modern art, featuring Kees Van Dongen, Raoul Dufy and Picasso.  You can check it out when you grow tired of watching movies at the film festival.
