The Aurora movie theater shooting shocked the world, and now people are finding that movie theaters don’t hesitate to take maximum precaution when it comes to threats.
Carmike Cinemas in Philadelphia received a bomb threat from an unidentified male that coordinated with screenings for the new Sylvester Stallone movie Expendables 2.

Authorities say the threat called for nine bombs to go off during 1 p.m. showings of the action flick Expendables 2.
It was unclear if the bombs were to be left in one specific theater or spread out through Carmike’s 170 or so nationwide locations. As a precaution evacuations occurred at local theaters as well as theaters in other parts of the country including Lexington, Ky. and six Atlanta, Ga. locations.
Theaters in Kentucky, Georiga, Tennesse, Alabama, and Kentucky had to be shut down while police raided with sniffer dogs to find traces of explosives after the theater company warned the FBI.
Columbus police Leuitenant Bill Rawn told the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer that the caller said:
‘You don’t pay us enough. You cut back our hours,’ before launching into a bomb threat where certain locations were mentioned.
“We’re not expendable. We’ll show you we’re not expendable.’

Since the Aurora shooting, there have been many arrests made for people who have attempted to bring guns into theaters.
We are glad that no one is hurt, and we hope theaters continue to take precautions when it comes to these kinds of threats and warnings.
