Facebook is always stirring the pot when it comes to keeping ahead of the curve in the social media space, and it looks like they are about to reveal some more major plans for 2013 with a new media gathering.

Facebook sent out an invitation to select members of the web space, inviting them to “come and see” what the company is building.

Facebook gave no clues as to what the announcement at the event will be, or what they are building, but Mashable points out that this is the brand’s first gathering since they hosted an announcement about their new retail partners for its Gifts app at FAO Schwartz in New York City in November.

But if new recent new rollouts to Facebook’s timeline are any indication of what is to come, here is what we can expect according to Mashable

They include a surprising new “Collections Manager” feature that lets you customize all that content at the top of your Timeline, as well as the ability to rearrange the right-hand column. The Timeline change also offers the ability to “rearrange” the boxes in the right-hand column (Likes, Photos, Map and so on). Previously, you could only choose to hide them altogether.

The announcement is slated to take place at their Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters on Jan. 15. Guess we will have to wait until then to see what Zuckerberg’s plans are.
