Mark Zuckerberg is pulling out the big ones for his latest Facebook re-vamp. The Facebook CEO held a press preview similar to those that Apple holds to release new products, to explain the new changes that Facebook will be rolling out.

The first thing on their list was tightening up Facebook’s search engine, a solution Zuckerberg and his crew found in Graph Search, Facebook’s newest addition.

According to The Next Web, the addition to the site will make it easier to make connections with your friends based on their interests, geographic locations and more.

It’s not web search — not indexing the web, but the map of the graph. The search that it has built is privacy aware.

Graph search is designed to take a precise query and deliver an answer. It won’t share with you links on where you can find it.

The answer to the query “what’s going on around them” (news feed) and what’s going on in their life (“timeline”), and now the third pillar of the ecosystem is what friends like, photos  – giving people the power and tools to make any query that they want.

And just so Zuckerberg could remind the world just how relevant the social network is, he pointed out that Facebook’s 1 billion users have uploaded a staggering 240 billion photographs, and have made in excess of 1 trillion total connections.

No word on when the new search tool will officially be rolling out, but it is sure to make connecting with lost friends a lot easier. Check out the video for more info below!
