The families of 9/11 victims are outraged to find out that a museum honoring the tragedy is planning to charge people for admission.

According to the NY Daily News, the museum, which is also seen as a memorial, plans to charge around $20-$25 for residents and visitors to see the exhibits.

Firefighters, police officers, and families of victims are all protesting the fee, and are offended that they have to pay to honor America’s tragedy.

One retired firefighter for the FDNY said of the fee:

“It’s ridiculous. We asked for a memorial and they’ve turned this into a P.T. Barnum production. These people are trying to make money off the worst day in American history.”

Another Westchester county resident also said:

“I don’t think people realize the enormous costs of building something like this, in a location like this,” said Burlingame, a Westchester County resident whose brother, Charles, was a pilot on the hijacked plane that hit the Pentagon. “At the end of the day we have to get the money from somewhere.”
This seems pretty ridiculous to charge to see a memorial, so we hope that they reconsider.
