The no-jewels look is going to be the red carpet trend that’s hot next year at Cannes, because the heists are reaching movie style proportions.

We just Cannes not believe the happenings coming out of the 66th Annual Cannes Film FestivalAnother heist just went down and this is all turning into a big game of Clue.

Earlier in the week, famed high-end jeweler house de Grisogono was holding their 20th anniversary party at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes. The guest list saw names like Paris Hilton, Sharon Stone, Chris Tucker, and Stacy Keibler, and about 700 other guests, who later all became plausible suspects after a $2.6 million necklace was stolen.

In a press release, the company said:

“Regrettably, after the night’s festivities ended, de Grisogono staff members discovered that a high jewelry necklace, part of the launched collection, was stolen despite the large security measures set in place: over 80 security guards plus the police. A police report has been filed and further investigation is under way by local law enforcement.”

Lindsay Lohan is in rehab, so we can’t possibly stick this one on her, but maybe Emma Watson learned a thing or two from her character in The Bling Ring? We kid, we kid.

This is the second jewelry robbery since Cannes kicked off; the first took place when $1 million worth of Chopard jewels were stolen after a safe was cut out of an employee’s hotel room.

There is no say on what tactics were used this time around, but it’s pretty safe to say that someone is cashing out on Cannes and may be the inspiration for a protagonist in an upcoming film.
