Despite earlier reports that there were multiple fatalities after a Louisiana chemical plant exploded, it has been confirmed that one person died and 73 were injured.

There are reports of a major explosion and fire at a chemical plant in Geismar, Louisiana.
The explosion occurred along Highway 30 and authorities say that the possibility of “numerous fatalities” is high.
