News that New England Patriots’ star Aaron Hernandez could be connected to a murder was shocking enough.

But when we heard that police were searching his home, and that he might get arrested, things started to get a little crazy.

We can’t say for sure if Hernandez is definitely involved, and we’ll have to wait for authorities to confirm or deny, but we decided to put together all we know about the case for your information.

Here’s everything we know about the bizarre case so far.

Police Checked Hernandez’s Home After Body Found Close:

Yesterday officials searched the North Attleborough home of the football star after a 27-year-old semi-pro football player named Odin Lloyd was found shot in an industrial park not far from the property. Police were led to his home after they discovered a rental vehicle with a Rhode Island license plate near the scene.

As the search was taking place, two of Hernandez’s friends attempted to leave the home, but were stopped by the Massachusetts State Police. Officials searched the car, but no word on what they found.

Initial reports stated that the football star was cooperating with police, but that was later found to be not true. A law enforcement source confirmed that police were not ruling him out as a suspect in the murder, and that Hernandez was not cooperating at that point.

Hernandez Destroyed His Home Security System, Had House Cleaned:

Officials are planning to go back to the home after learning that he destroyed his home security system and his cell phone.

An investigator close to the case confirmed that security cameras were smashed intentionally. The source also told ABC News that a team of house cleaners were hired on Monday to scrub his mansion.

Hernandez & Victim Were Together The Night He Was Shot To Death:

Investigative sources also say that Hernandez had partied with Lloyd at a Boston nightclub Friday night into Saturday morning.

Police reviewed surveillance video Wednesday that was taken at that club and saw that at some point, the four men left together in a car driven by Hernandez, which was confirmed by a text Lloyd sent another friend.

Lloyd never returned to the house.

Authorities Say Hernandez Will Be Arrested:

Earlier today it was reported that Hernandez would be taken into custody. However, it is unclear if the arrest will be in connection to the homicide or another investigation.

He Allegedly Shot Someone In The Face:

According to TMZ, he was sued for allegedly shooting a man in the face following an altercation at a Miami strip club.

The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Florida on June 13, just five days before investigators searched the NFL player’s Massachusetts home in connection with a homicide investigation.

We are also learning that the football player might be connected with yet another homicide from a few years back.

We’ll keep you updated on the latest.
