In the latest issue of Vibe Magazine, on newstandands now, Lil’ Wayne‘s manager Cortez Bryant spilled the beans about Wayne highly anticipated new album The Carter IV. He said ‘Before Lil Wayne went to jail he told me, “When I’m gone, I don’t want my fans to feel like they miss me.” So he gave me Tha Carter IV before he went in- 20-something songs. Gee and I listened to them, but as time went on- I talk to Wayne everyday- it inspired me that he’d been writing inside. So I decided I wanna brand Carter IV as that Wayne the world’s been waiting to hear. It’s now gonna be all fresh-out-of jail material. Tha Carter Brand is so large I wanna make sure we don’t go backwards.’ This new is incredibly exciting, and The Carter IV is easily one of the most anticipated albums of the year. As fans of Lil’ Wayne since his days as a member of The Hot Boyz, we’ve enjoyed seeing his growth as an artist and his rise to the top of the game. Here is what we’d like to see Weezy do for the Carter IV.

1. Hook Back Up With Mannie Fresh

Mannie is one of the best producers of all time, without a doubt. His singular sound is arguably just as responible for Cash Money’s domination as Baby and Slim’s business sense. Mannie and Wayne have a great working relationship, and together the two have cooked up quite a few classics – ‘Go DJ,’ ‘The Block Is Hot,’ and ‘Birdman Jr.’ to name a few. Mannie has been laying low for a while, but judging by this recent video of him playing beats for Mystikal, he still has that magic touch. We’re not saying we want Mannie to produce the whole album, but  we’d love to hear what Wayne on at least one Mannie Fresh production. For old time’s sake.

2. Ditch The Auto-Tune

We’re not anti-autotune per se, but something about Wayne’s use of it just isn’t pleasant to listen to. Plus, it’s just played out. We figured that Wayne was past his auto-tune stage after No Cielings, but his latest single from the I’m Not A Human Being EP, ‘Right Above It,’ is full of it. On the off-chance that you’re reading this from jail: Weezy, please step away from the auto-tune!
