Being young Hollywood’s newest go-to-girl for the most fashionable accessories seems like a pretty big order to fill, but to Lauren Ruicci, designer and founder of Laruicci Jewelry, it’s another day on the job.  It was only a short time ago that she was designing accessories for mass market (a job that required no creativity on her part), and now she’s designing one-of-a-kind pieces for some of today’s top celebrities.  Women like Beyonce, Chloe Sevigny, Solange, Ke$ha, and Nicky Minaj have all been photographed in Lauren’s designs. What once seemed like a just a dream, has quickly come to fruition and, is surpassing many of the designer’s own expectations.

Growing up in Farmington Hills, Michigan (a small town outside of Detroit) she would often escape to the big city where she could soak up the culture, and leave saturated with newfound inspiration.  Filled with ideas, yet still unable to truly express herself, she packed her bags and moved to New York City.  This was just the right ignition she needed to spark her creativity.  It was in the “big apple” where she landed a gig assisting super-celeb fashion stylist, Patty Wilson.

Her time as an assistant allowed her to rub elbows with some of the “who’s who” in the fashion and entertainment industries, but she recalls being most fascinated watching how others would go crazy for one-of-a-kind pieces.  Wanting to inspire that same kind of excitement, Lauren began experimenting with different materials and secretly shared her works of art with people around her.  She gained confidence from their encouragement, and gave birth to Laruicci.  She connected with The Berit Group, a New York based PR Company, that introduced her work to fashion editors and stylist who, in return, quickly recognized her talent.

Very humbly, Ms. Ruicci states that “big dreams require patience”, but to an outsider looking in, it seems quite contrary for her. The almost two year old company has already dressed the pages of some of the world’s top fashion magazines including Vogue Italia, Nylon, Essence and Complex (just to name a few).  Most recently, pop superstar, Rihanna was featured on the cover of Elle Magazine, adorning a pair of Laruicci earrings.

The exposure helped catapult her already established success to a new level, and sent the phone into a ringing frenzy!

This type of recognition reminds Lauren that she’s in the right business, and knowing her customers are satisfied is the encouragement needed to continuously produce masterpieces for them.  Ideally, the Laruicci client is confident, fashion forward, and loves to show off.&n
