Chris Brown and his lady Karrueche Tran were spotted making their way inside the criminal court in downtown L.A. yesterday – and they weren’t alone. Cee-Lo Green was also photographed headed into the courthouse, but unfortunately he wasn’t there to show his support for Breezy. The Voice host made his way to the fifth floor for a routine hearing in his felony drug case.
But back to Brown. According to TMZ, yesterday was Breezy’s lucky day. The singer could have gone straight to jail if prosecutors had gotten their way.
Chris appeared before a judge to discuss his alleged assault in Washington D.C., in which Brown is accused of having beat up an innocent bystander last October. The judge overseeing the case has dealt with Chris before. In fact, this is the same judge that ruled in the 24-year-old’s previous assault case, during which he was found guilty of hitting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Prosecutors in the case asked that Brown be thrown in jail immediately and requested a probation violation hearing be set. They claim “Brown’s violent behavior continues to increase in severity and frequency” and he is “an increasing danger to society,” according to TMZ.
The D.A. says they have reviewed the case and have probable cause to believe Chris is guilty. The judge, however, seems to be showing Breezy some mercy. He believes 90 days in rehab for anger management would better serve the R&B star and shut down the prosecution.
This means more rehab for Chris. But we’re guessing he’d prefer that to hard time?
