Ray Rice has definitely landed himself in hot water.
Saturday night, the NFL running back and his fiancée Janay Palmer were arrested in Atlantic City, New Jersey after an altercation that resulted in “minor physical injuries.” Clearly things were a lot worse than anyone suspected.
Video surfaced Wednesday morning of the former Super Bowl champ dragging his unconscious girlfriend out of the casino elevator prior to their arrest. The footage, obtained by TMZ, shows Rice attempting to pick up his fiancée, who was seemingly lifeless.
The video also shows a bystander approaching Rice looking noticeably alarmed that there was a woman lying shoeless on the ground, and a 215 pound man struggling to lift her. Law enforcement was called soon after.
A rep for Rice released a statement prior to the video surfacing:
“We are aware of the Friday night situation with Ray Rice and his fiancée. We have spoken with Ray, and know that they returned home together after being detained.”
The rep also confirmed today that despite the video release, he sticks by his statement.
Ray and Janay have a 2-year-old daughter named Rayven.
