An American photojournalist who went missing in Syria more than a year ago was beheaded on video by the militant group formerly known as ISIS. James Foley was covering Syria’s civil war when he went missing in 2012. On Tuesday, Foley appeared in a video entitled “A Message to #America from the #IslamicState,” denouncing America in a statement officials believe was written by ISIS members. A Tampa, Fl. woman injured her 7-year-old grandson when she mistook him for an intruder and shot him. Linda Maddox, 63, and her twin grandsons were sleeping in her home when she heard a chair she put against the door for extra protection slide against the floor. Thinking it was an intruder, Maddox grabbed a loaded .22-caliber revolver she keeps by the bed and fired a shot towards the door. The child is now in critical condition. Read more here… [HuffPost]

In a statement released on Tuesday, Twitter said it will remove images of deceased people upon request of their family members — a move made in the wake of photojournalist James Foley’s viral beheading. “In order to respect the wishes of loved ones, Twitter will remove imagery of deceased individuals in certain circumstances,” Twitter spokesman Nu Wexler said.
