Kerry Washington continues to win.

At the upcoming GLAAD Media Awards, the Scandal actress will be honored with the Vanguard Award for her efforts in making a “significant difference in promoting equality.”

The mom of one has advocated for the equality for LGBT people, “participated in GLAAD’s annual anti-bullying campaign, Spirit Day” and of course, is the lead on a show that embraces the LGBT community. Variety reports:

“Throughout her illustrious career, Kerry Washington has consistently brought to life characters that encourage acceptance of LGBT people,” GLAAD’s president Sarah Kate Ellis said in a statement. “Her outspoken support for equality, both here at home and abroad, has sent messages of hope and empowerment to fans all over the world, fostering dialogue that builds understanding and helps moves hearts and minds.”

The history-making and stylish actress joins Jennifer Lopez, Kristin Chenoweth, Charlize Theron, Elizabeth Taylor, Antonio Banderas, Drew Barrymore, Janet Jackson, and Sharon Stone as recipients of the esteemed honor.

The GLAAD Media Awards take place on March 21st.
