Some of you may have clicked this blog entry because after reading the TITLE you may have had the crazy thought that I was about to start a beef with Russell….come on now, be honest. Just joking. (smile)

But seriously this response to Russell is about his present blog titled ‘What Inspires You?’. Since he set a theme, I wanted to respond by sharing my thoughts on INSPIRATION, DESIRE AND TRUE LOVE.

INSPIRATION

There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come. Minister Farrakhan says that one of the greatest joys of life is the POWER OF THE CREATIVE MIND. The ability of the human being to ENVISION, EAT, SLEEP and DRINK an idea then go to work (grind) to make it concrete reality. That’s inspiration! Even further, when that idea serves, enlightens and elevates other people, that’s even more inspirational.

So my greatest inspiration comes from bringing ideas into fruition and using what I have been blessed with to serve others everyday starting with my family and beyond. Life feeds death and death feeds life. So when we take the time to give a good word or perform a good deed for someone who is down (dead in energy) then it feeds us when they are elevated….and they can do the same for us when we go through difficulties.

Its like a covalent bond…the sharing of atoms!

DESIRE

What was the last meal you ate today? Was it fast food or something of substance? Liken unto that,  the food that our WILL must feed off of is DESIRE. Our Will sometimes can look like unexercised muscles that no longer reacts swiftly to the commands of our brain cells. Likewise, without desire our Will becomes broken, dysfunctional and we become uninspired. How hungry are you?

A great book says ‘Man only gets what he strives for and soon his striving will be seen’. Where is your hunger?

You wouldn’t put regular unleaded gas in your Maybach so why are we feeding our Will mediocre thoughts?

TRUE LOVE

Ok, I honestly do not celebrate Valentine’s Day but when I was in high school I used to get ‘hired’ by my friends to draw original V-day cards for their mates which they noticed for some reason had more of an impact than going out and buying something extravagant. There is power in simplicity and showing you care cannot be limited to one commercialized day of the year.

My point is that love is not something that you TALK but it’s something that you show. Love is an action verb. You can’t love anyone if you don’t first love yourself. Do you love yourself enough to take care of your temple (body)? Do you feed your mind? Do I love you enough to tell you the truth even if it hurts your feelings? Do I love you enough to serve you? Do I love you enough to help you be the best YOU?

Love is mathemathics, duty and responsibility…..not feeling and emotion.

Lastly, I once read that there is a lesson in everything in creation for those who are mindful or pay attention.

So we can even draw inspiration from something as small as an ant or bee if we would study it.

But we have to humble ourselves to see the value in others and things that are around us.

BE INSPIRED…BE THE CHANGE.

Peace,

Brother Jesse
