Vera Wang was once a senior fashion editor for Vogue Magazine for 16 years, she left the magazine after being overlooked for the ‘Editor-in-Chief’ position in 1985. After parting ways with Vogue, Vera Wang, joined Ralph Lauren as design director for 2 years. After finally realizing that she needed to follow her own dreams instead of building others, she opened her own design salon in the Carlyle Hotel, that would feature her now signature wedding gowns. In the past 20 years, Vera Wang has outfitted some of our favorite female celebrities for their big day. Aside from launching other brands, and further solidifying herself as a mainstream womenswear designer, Vera Wang, still nurtures the first baby that introduced her name to the design world!
