Just one day after a cease-fire measure proposed by Egypt fell apart, Israel launched a new round of airstrikes, targeting senior Hamas officials in the ongoing Gaza conflict. As of Wednesday, the death toll for the nine-day conflict has reached 208 for Palestinians, many of them children and civilians. On Tuesday, one Israeli man was killed. In all, at least 1,550 people have been injured in Gaza since fighting broke out last week, health officials say. Read about it here…[ABC]

Another person has burned down their house trying to kill a spider and we don’t blame them. A Seattle man started the blaze when he saw the spider in the laundry room and went after it with a lighter and a can of spray paint. The fire caused $40,000 in damages to the house and $20,000 to property inside. The man and his roommate escaped the blaze, but it’s unclear if the spider survived. We’re going to go with no. The wife of the Florida police officer who was fired for his alleged ties with the Ku Klux Klan has come forward to tell investigators they were on an undercover operation. Really? Ann Hunnewell claimed she and her ex-husband, George Hunnewell, joined the KKK in 2008 at the request of then-Police Chief Mark Isom. She said they were trying to find out if another officer was a KKK member.
