Lisa Jackson, the woman who’s filing a lawsuit against Paula Deen, is finally speaking out about why she decided to reveal the chef as the racist person she is.

A Caucasian woman, Jackson claims that when she worked as a manger at Deen’s restaurants in Savannah, Georgia, she witnessed the Southern belle being extremely rude and disrespectful to her black workers.

“I may be a white woman, but I could no longer tolerate her abuse of power as a business owner, nor her condonation of Mr. Hier’s [Deen’s brother] despicable behavior on a day-to-day basis. I am what I am, and I am a human being that cares about all races, and that is why I feel it is important to be the voice for those who are too afraid to use theirs,” Ms. Jackson said.

“This lawsuit has never been about the N-word,” Jackson says in the statement, provided to CNN’s Don Lemon by her lawyer, Matthew Billips. “It is to address Ms. Deen’s patterns of disrespect and degradation of people that she deems to be inferior.”

Formerly working for Deen for five years, Jackson is now suing Paula as well as her brother Bubba Hier for racism, violence and discrimination.

Paula has already lost a number of endorsement deals with many major retailers. She has also made public apologies for her use of the N-word.

Sorry Paula! Looks like no matter how hard you’re trying to make things right, you keep getting burned.
