Kelly Rowland and Beyonce are best friends, and if they’re anything like us regular folks, their relationship status is complicated.

This morning, I came across photos of Kelly Rowland crying after her own birthday lunch. The small celebration was attended by Beyonce and Solange, so naturally, people speculated that Beyonce made Kelly cry.

By people, I mean I.

Is it true? Who knows, but in today’s age of assume now, ask questions later, nothing is too far fetched. Because when you have a friendship like Kelly and Beyonce share, it’s based on love. When someone you love hurts you, the pain comes and hits like a ton of bricks. Hard enough to make tears the size of golf balls stream from your eyes.

Our friends do things that make us upset and make us cry, but at the end of the day, they are our friends. They are there when we are up and when we are down. Our friends are the ones who help us get through those difficult times when those golf ball-size tears pour from our eyes like the banks of New York after Hurricane Sandy.

But it is also our friends who need to recognize when we are down. Friends who need to take a moment to check up on us, and make sure we are alright.

They are also there to push us when they feel like we are not going hard enough, and if a tear or twenty fall in the process, so be it. Because that is truly what friends are for.

So while we don’t know the dynamic of Kelly and Beyonce’s friendship, we know they are there for each other. We know they will always be best friends forever. We know that things can get tough, but at the end of the day, it will always get better.

So cheer up Kelly, whatever is getting you down. You have friends and fans that love you. Rock out and don’t let us see you crying on your birthday!
