In a recent interview with Sowmya Krishnamurthy, Pusha T revealed some very shocking news. Kanye West offered to give him Hit-Boy’s “N*ggas In Paris” beat, but Pusha wasn’t feeling it, so he passed.
Months later, Kanye and Jay-Z turned the Hit-Boy production into “N*ggas In Paris,” which was one of the biggest hits of 2011.
“He sent me some stuff that I don’t always feel. It happens. Then he’ll go out of his way to prove you wrong. And he does sometimes…’Niggas in Paris.'”
Wait. Kanye sent you “In Paris” first?
“Yeah.”
Pusha doesn’t seem too affected by his decision to pass on the beat, but he may wonder “what if?” years down the road.
Pusha T’s G.O.O.D Music debut, My Name Is My Name, is set to drop July 16.
