Either way, M.I.A stayed good to her world when she announced a top secret collection with Versace would be dropping in just two weeks, and alas, the first look is here.
Inspired by knockoff Versace pieces found at London markets, the Sri Lankan artist’s 19 piece collection of T-shirts, jeans, jersey dresses, and military jackets features everything you would desire for an M.I.A collaboration: over the top, over printed, over blinged, and just our cup of tea.
Riffing on classic sportswear, the collection remixes Versace trademarks, combining golden medallions with Sanskrit-inspired lettering and glowing lotus flowers. Loud, outspoken and ready for action, it’s everyday armor, bristling with urban attitude.
The collection drops on October 16th, so no lattes for you until then. Save those coins.
