Last week, Dr. Martens took over all three levels of New York City’s The Delancey to celebrate the Spirit 69 Collection.
Set to go on sale in stores and online next month, the collection is inspired by the first generation of skinheads, the British subculture full of an attitude and style all their own, set to the tunes of ska, reggae and rocksteady music back in 1969.
For the launch, the iconic boot brand gave over 600 guests a blast from the past with an evening of good Carribbean-inspired food & drinks and even better reggae music at the Lower East Side spot where they got a glimpse of the collection, which consists of footwear by Dr. Martens, tops by Brutus, Edwin jeans, jackets by Alpha Industries, and a bag collaboration with Trojan Records.
Check out some pieces from the Spirit of 69 collection before you can shop it this September.
