Alaskan reporter Charlo Greene made a big statement during a local news report Sunday night when she quit her job to focus on advocating for legal marijuana in the U.S.

According to Syracuse, Greene dropped the F-bomb during a report on medical marijuana. She also revealed that she was president and CEO of the Alaska Cannabis Club before announcing her resignation.

Greene, whose real name is Charlene Egbe, revealed she was the owner of a medical marijuana business while reporting on its interest in an upcoming ballot measure on legalizing marijuana in the state.

“Now everything you’ve heard is why I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska,” she said. “And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but, f— it. I quit.”

Egbe then walked off set, leaving KTLA’s anchor in an awkward moment and forced to apologize for her profanity

Bert Rudman, the stations’ news director issued a formal apology to their viewers and stated that they fired Egbe.

Alaskans will vote on November 4th to legalize the recreational use of marijuana in the state. Her club, the Cannibis Club is the state’s only place to receive medicinal marijuana. Egbe is encouraging others to support her by assisting with her Indie Gogo campaign and voting yes to support the drug on voting day.

“I’m Charlo Greene, the president and CEO of the Alaska Cannabis Club – Alaska’s only legal medical marijuana resource.”  her funding page reads. “I just quit my news reporting job on live TV to announce that I am redirecting all of my energy toward helping to end a failed drug policy that has ruined the lives of far too many Americans.

As a member of the media, I’ve seen the dirty campaign tricks and lies that prohibitionists have been using over the past several months to sway Alaskan voters firsthand. Here’s the sad thing: it’s working. Polling shows the majority of Alaskans, who were in favor of the initiative at the start of the year, are now against it.”
