Today Lil Wayne is going to jail for gun possession. Of course the media will try and portray Weezy as a bad person, but just because he had a gun, doesn't mean he's a threat to society. In fact, Lil Wayne has given back to the community a lot, which gives me reason to say he deserves a pardon from Barack Obama.
Weezy F. Baby has his own organization, the One Family Foundation, which works to empower urban youth by providing opportunities to cultivate their talents and skills, helping the youth learn to become productive and economically self sufficient while being motivated to become successful.
After Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Lil Wayne went to work to help rebuild the community. He donated $200,000 to the officials of Harrell Park through his Wayne's One Family Foundation to help rebuild a playground he used to play at when he was younger.
Lil Wayne's known to have a lot of jewelry, but he's definitely not selfish when it comes to giving it away for a good cause. He actually auctioned some of his jewelry for charity as well.
Most recently, after a massive earthquake hit Haiti, Lil Wayne contributed to the remake of the "We Are The World" record to help raise money for Haiti. He was responsible for singing Bob Dylan's part. Although he contributed to the record, he did have something to say in regards to Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans also.
Although he did break the law having the gun and he could have possibly hurt someone with it, I think he was justified having it. Weezy's known to have a lot of money on him, which makes him a possible target for robbery. He has to keep the gun on him to protect himself, otherwise he could get robbed, or even worse and get hurt.
Weezy's a good person, even Barack Obama knows it. He said kids can't all aspire to be like Lil Wayne. If the message could get to President Obama somehow, I'd ask him to consider giving Lil Wayne a pardon. Weezy's definitely an inspiration for artists, and a caring individual who gives back.
