There comes a time when a blockbuster and a great film collide, creating something so epic words cannot begin to describe how amazing a movie truly is.

Dark Knight Rises is that film. The new flick from Christopher Nolan might quite possibly be the best Batman movie ever made.

This dark and gritty tale starts off with a bang as the crowd is introduced to Bane, a mean ass enforcer trained by the League Of Shadows who is hell bent on destroying Gotham City.

Tom Hardy delivers his uprising dialect in a way that makes you want to get up and fight the forces of Gotham – until you remember he’s a criminal.

Christian Bale dusts off his role of Bruce Wayne, who has been stuck in Wayne Manor cut off from the rest of the world since the death of Harvey Dent. Walking with a limp, he starts to get the hunger for the cape again after a cat burglar breaks into his uncrackable safe.

A bunch of explosions, car chases and visuals of extremely new high tech bat weapons, and the movie is rolling.

Once the action began, I found myself saying, ‘Holy Green Screen’! The digital effects are amazing, and the new toys Batman has are enough to make you cream from excitement.

I’ve been sworn to secrecy about the film, so I cannot give any plot or spoilers away, but I can say that about three quarters of the way through, I found myself saying this movie deserves Oscars all around. The last 45 minutes of the movie was like watching cinematic perfection.

Dark Knight Rises is truly a great film and worth your 12 bucks and 2 hours and 45 minutes in the theater.
