No Laughing Matter! A Clown Dies At The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (DETAILS)

A 67-year-old man dressed up as a clown collapsed and died in front of hundreds of onlookers at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade yesterday.

Robert Blasetti and his wife Irene, both in clown costumes, were making balloon animals when Blasetti suddenly fell backward.  His wife's attempt to bring him back to life through CPR before an ambulance arrived did not work.  He was pronoucned dead at a hospital. According to an eye witness,

“All of a sudden he collapsed and fell on his back. People came to him right away. It didn’t look like he was breathing. People started pumping his chest,’’ said Tuvia Yamnik.

Macy’s spokesman Orlando Veras did not confirm whether the man was a Macy's employee, however he said that ”We are saddened to report that a marcher in the Macy’s Parade suffered a medical emergency.” 

In addition, a 58-year-old NYPD officier also passed away from a heart attack while he was on duty at the parade. 

Wow, we can only imagine how tragic it must have been for parade goers to witness such fatal incidences.
