The security guard who shot and killed Kijuan Byrd outside Club Lexx in Northwest Miami-Dade has been arrested.

STORY: HE HAS A NAME: Kijuan Byrd, Shot Six Times By Miami Security Guard

Lukace Kendle, 26, was arrested today on a charge of second-degree murder of Kijuan Byrd. Kendle was arrested at 4:15 p.m. at his home on SW 291st Street, Miami-Dade Police said.

The family of Kijuan has been asking Miami police to arrest the security guard who killed Kijuan earlier this month.

Kijuan was shot and killed in a parking lot outside the exotic Club according to authorities by a security guard who opened fire shooting Kijuan six times.

According to Benjamin Crump, the Florida attorney who also represents the family of Trayvon Martin, the security guard is claiming a “stand your ground” defense.

The seven-year-old law allows a person to meet force with force if they reasonably believe they are in danger of being killed or seriously harmed.
