Former Massachusetts governor and leading Republican front runner Mitt Romney shot out of the gate Tuesday night, winning the New Hampshire primary. The victory cements Romney’s status as the man to challenge President Obama in November.

STORY: Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner! Mitt Romney Wins By Eight Votes 

Texas Rep. Ron Paul led former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman for second place, with Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum trailing.

Some of the final numbers revealed the first 11 percent of the state’s precincts showed Romney with 36 percent of the vote, followed by Ron Paul with 25 percent and Huntsman with 17 percent.

Former House Speaker Gingrich and former Pennsylvania Sen. Santorum came in with 11 percent and 10 percent.
