President Barack Obama is in Afghanistan and tonight and will address the nation on the future of the NATO mission in the region after a decade of war.

STORY: Never Scared! Obama Touches Down In Afghanistan

In his speech to the nation President Obama declared that the defeat of the terrorists who attacked the U.S. on Sept. 11, 2001, is finally “within reach.” saying-

 “This time of war began in Afghanistan & this is where it will end.” 

Obama said the tide of the war and U.S. forces have “devastated” al-Qaida’s leadership. He singled out the U.S. troops that launched the operation one year ago that killed Osama bin Laden.

Obama continued, saying-

“It is time to renew America. An America where our children live free from fear & have the skills to claim their dreams.”

Earlier today the President touched down in Afghanistan and he and President Hamid Karzai signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement, laying out details of the US/Afghanistan relationship for the withdrawal of US troops in 2014 through 2024.
