We’re sure diners at Sogno di Vino in Poulsbo, WA were happy about this one.

LIST: Funniest Receipts: When Customers Leave More Than A Tip!

The King family was rewarded by the restaurant because their children weren’t throwing temper tantrums, crying or screaming during dinner. Servers were so impressed with the three young King children that they wanted to congratulate the family by taking $4 off of their bill!

Restaurant owner Angela Scott told the New York Daily News that they rarely see kids display such good behavior. “You would never even know that children were in the dining room,” Scott said. “We just wanted to say, ‘Awesome! You guys were so good!”

The King kids also received some free ice cream.

Laura King, 28, was so surprised and pleased that she put a picture of the receipt on her Facebook page…and that’s when it went viral.

“This was definitely a random act of kindness,” King told the Daily News. “We didn’t go to the restaurant expecting a reward. We expect our kids to act this way whenever we are out and about. This was just a small surprise.”

The mother even gave some tips on how to master the art of taking small children out to eat.

We enjoyed a fabulous dinner sans crayons, iPods, and other toys. We appreciate conversing with one another over dinner and always use our dinners out to catch up and do just that. I worked in the restaurant industry prior to having kids and so have high expectations of my children when we are out to eat. We never arrive starving and always tip well. I encourage all parents to take their kids out to eat so they know how to do so.

Hmmm…we’ll have to keep that in mind. Should restaurants implement a “well-behaved kids” discount or add a percentage if the children are causing trouble?
