Transportation Security Administration agents at La Guardia Airport are facing some heat today, after they found pipe bombs in a flier’s luggage – but instead of reporting it, they left the bombs sitting on a radiator for over six hours.

STORY: Crazy Sh*t People Try To Sneak By The TSA

One Port Authority police official was angry at the discovery telling the NY Post, “Six hours to report a potential bomb? It’s outrageous. When I saw the image, I took a step backward and said, ‘What’s that?!’

It was a screw up of epic proportions, as the TSA failed to alert the police after finding the package at about 11:30 a.m. at the central terminal when the male flier’s bags passed through an X-ray machine.

The flier left the pipes behind and it wasn’t until 3 p.m., with the devices still lying around the screening area, when the supervisor finally realized he should notify someone.

The supervisor called the TSA bomb specialist who decided the pipes could, indeed, be dangerous and notified the PAPD bomb squad.

A TSA spokesman later insisted the items were “voluntarily surrendered” and the agency notified cops only “out of an abundance of caution.”

The TSA needs to step their game up and follow procedure more closely.
