Barack Obama performed his Presidential duty today by pardoning the White House Turkey amply named Liberty.

Joined by his two daughters, Sasha and Malia, the President waved his hands and pardoned Liberty on the North Portico of the White House. Liberty weighed in at 45-pounds, is about 19 weeks old and hails from Minnesota.

Liberty sat looking as Obama offered a blessing, waving his hand over the turkey’s head telling the onlookers of reporters that-
“Liberty has the distinction of being the luckiest bird on the face of the earth and right now, he’s also probably one of the most confused.”
After the fun and games were over the President took a more serious tone reminding Americans of those who can’t spend time with their families during the holidays.
“Let’s think about those who can’t spend the holiday with their loved ones, especially the members of our military serving overseas. I’d like to thank all our men and women in uniform, and their families, for their incredible service and devotion.”
Later today the President and his family will deliver two not-so-lucky birds to a local food pantry, where they will volunteer and serve food.
