The iPhone 4S and its digital assistant Siri are still capturing imaginations months after their debut in Cupertino.

Much like the famed Xbox 360 Kinect, Siri has come under the gaze of hackers who have reworked its code to do things like start cars, control iTunes, tweet and open applications on your MAC.

We’ve had our fun with the British sounding software program, you know asking silly questions and sometimes, it takes forever to get an answer out of it. We’re guessing you can can start your car faster than Siri can if you really want to. And controlling iTunes? You’re better off manually adding songs to your playlist yourself.

Still, it is kinda cool that some geniuses with time on their hands know how to pervert some lines of code so that our coming robot masters can control our lives effortlessly.

Here hacker “Brandon” describes how he got Siri to start his car.

The “Siri Proxy” plugin I wrote handles interaction with a php script that runs on my web server. The php script, which I developed months ago for personal use, allows me to send commands to my car which has a Viper SmartStart module installed.

Current commands accepted are: “Vehicle Arm”, “Vehicle Disarm”, “Vehicle Start”, “Vehicle Stop”, “Vehicle Pop Trunk”, and “Vehicle Panic.”

The Siri proxy is what allows Siri to control non-Apple branded products and anyone can use it. You can even use it on locked phones. One guy used it to control his thermostat.
