We quizzed Davidson about the presentation and his work with Nicki!
GlobalGrind: Hi Terrence! What did you think of the Coco & Breezy presentation?
Terrence Davidson: I think it was amazing. I got a couple of glasses that I need to get from them so I have to reach out to them ASAP. I want three or four of them; they are crazy!
Did you see anything that Nicki might like?
Yeah, the ones with the yellow definitely, and I think there were some turquoise ones; those two! I know she probably would love those.
What has NY Fashion Week been like for you?
Busy. Hectic. Running around, going to different shows and getting knocked over the first day we were here. The YSL event was crazy! It was really crazy! There were so many fans outside that [Nicki] couldn’t even get through. [Fashion Week] is a lot of work but it’s fun. Pretty much on Fashion Week, we can see everything, all we want.
What are your essentials for Fashion Week? What can you not be without for Fashion Week?
I don’t know, because I am not a fashion person, I am a hair person! But, at the end of the day, you give me some accessories for the hair! Fashion wise, you can give me some flip flops and some pants. I really like the Hammer-like pants that I have been seeing everybody with lately, that is something that I think I want to get into, because I really love that look. I think I am going to see what I can do with that because I am kind of tall, so we will see.
When you are doing Nicki’s hair, how do you present ideas to her? Do you suggest things or do you have a catalog that she can look through?
We actually work together and it’s not a catalog because it is supposed to be in our heads. The idea comes from what we think about, what we come up with together and I just put it down. I make it work and she agrees with it if she likes it, or she don’t; but me and her work together on it. She will tell me the idea she likes and what I like and we will work together on it. If she tells me something I will do it my way and then I will do it the way she likes it, so that she will have options to choose from.
How long have you been her hairstylist?
December will be two years now. I have been with her for two years.
Where are you from?
I can say I am from Atlanta and New Jersey. Half my life I have been there and the other half of my life I have been in Atlanta, but I currently live in Atlanta.
