Happy Mothers Day. Why not listen to some new Mobb Deep music with your mother.  “Must Go Hard” is definitely must hear music. Maybe it’s because people are tired of the same ole same rap clowns from different towns, or maybe it’s because we’re all happy Prodigy is home from his bid.

Whatever it may be for you, this is that vintage gritty Mobb Deep that fans know and love. Hav and P rhymin’ over chopped classic samples. “Must Go Hard” sounds like an older unreleased gem. Shout to Kay Slay on this. Word on the street is this song leaked on the strength of him. Of course Alchemist is behind the boards on this.

I was in the ever popular GreenHouse club in SoHo earlier this week and peeped Enrique Iglesias‘s new heat rock “Dirty Dancer.” Now “Tonight I’m Loving You” is zooovy in the club, a bonafide smash hit. “Dirty Dancer” looks to be a solid follow up except for this new radio/club version, in addition to Usher, Enrique got Young Money general Lil Wayne to add his thug passion. This is a chick record to the max. When I say ‘to the max’ I mean “Tom Cruise on the couch if the money right. West Hollywood yeah, it’s looking like a bunny night!” This will be the next smash if you’re an Enrique fan. If you’re not, then listen to pure genius…on speed.

J. Cole is next with his newest B side flavor “Disgusting.” This is just a delicious slice to snack on while we wait for Cole to deliver the full meal sometime later this year. He surpassed expectations with ‘In The Morning’ so “Disgusting: is just something the ‘fan of the spitters’ will dig. It really showcases Cole World’s clever wordplay, which is why Hov signed him in the first place. Cole isn’t a freshman anymore, but he’s still one of classiest MCs in this new school of hip- hop.

Omarion has staged a much documented come back  his year with the highly anticipated DJ Drama presents ‘The Awakening’ mixtape. “Luke Skywalker” is O’s latest offering, which features the most well known of the Shaolin (that’s Staten for you droids) Island superstars, Method Man. I’m an honorary Jedi Knight so anything with Luke Skywalker involved gets my attention. The song, though, is, dare I say dope? O gets at his naysayers in the most poetic of ways with a skill even Master Yoda would approve of. There’s a crazy outer space light saber effect in this record that is truly outta this world.

Lastly, from the lands of The ATL comes a new song, a new dance, a new crew The Charlie Boy Gang with “Beef It Up.” At first glance and or listen, “Beef It Up” looks and sounds like a low budget movie filmed in your local hood. But sometimes that’s how a movement starts…in the hood. This record has become one of the biggest in Atlanta, especially with the younger crowd. The dance that accompanies “Beef It Up” seems to be the glue that’s helping this record stick around. Peep and enjoy.
