Mary J. Blige not gon’ cry, but she sure isn’t happy.

The queen of hip-hop soul Mary J.Blige was “saddened” when she learned her song “The Living Proof” didn’t receive an Oscar nomination for its feature in the movie The Help

The Help starring Viola Davis, Jessica Chastain, and Octavia Spencer received four nominations in three categories including Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actress, but didn’t receive a nomination for Best Original Song.

LIST: 2012 Oscar Nominations Announced!

Thankful to be a part of The Help soundtrack, Mary J. Blige took to her Twitter to express how she felt about her Oscar snub.

“I’m so thankful for true fans like you all. It saddens me & feel like The Academy is being mean. 2 only nominate 2 of the 5 slots is…..”

The category usually features five nominees, but this year there’s only two. Bret McKenzie was nominated for “Man or Muppet” from The Muppets.  Sergio Mendes was nominated for “Real in Rio” from the kid flick Rio.

Not really sure why The Academy snubbed Mary, but she definitely deserved the nomination.
