The subject of war criminals has become a hot button issue in the last week, after nonprofit group Invisible Children produced a hugely popular half-hour documentary about the Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony.

War criminals and those charged with crimes against humanity have frequently eluded their captures for long periods of time.
For instance, Charles Taylor, the 22nd President of Liberia, was accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity as a result of his involvement in the Sierra Leone Civil War.
To date, Taylor has not been brought to justice by the ICC, but he is facing trail in The Hague, the capital city of the province of South Holland in the Netherlands.
From the time they are indicted to the time of their capture or death, ruthless dictators and warlords have eluded prison for so long it has become an art form.
But as history has shown us, you can’t run forever; just ask Muammar Gaddafi.
