Last year, Charlie Sheen put himself in the Hollywood history books for his meltdown involving a lot of #winning and tiger blood.

While everyone saw the 46-year-old actor as a playboy and wild party animal throughout his career, Charlie is now admitting he didn’t recognize himself!

Charlie went on the Today Show recently to speak with Matt Lauer about his behavior last year and how he feels seeing the footage.

He told Matt:

“I didn’t recognize parts of who that guy was. I just wish it was somebody else’s body. You say it’s been a year – it’s either been a day, or a hundred years.”

He also talked about why he spoke out:

“I guess the plan was to reintroduce myself to America and to the media and say, ‘Sorry about that, but here’s what’s happening now’.”

While he hasn’t been on the TV screen in a couple of years after leaving Two and Half Men, Charlie’s decided that he wants to make peace with his departure:

“I gotta work through that. I could probably do it in a group on my show. Just not out loud.

I couldn’t have the Two And A Half Men thing be my television legacy. I couldn’t have that end on that note. If this is going to be a swansong, then it’s got to be a beautiful experience, and, so far, eight days there was more fun than eight years.”

We’re glad that Charlie Sheen is coming to his senses and we’re happy that he wants to move on on a positive note.
