Yesterday, when photos of Rocsi and Eddie Murphy walking out of a coffee shop surfaced, people automatically assumed they were a couple – myself included.

But that’s the thing with celebrities, there is such a demand for what they do in their personal lives that with just the flash of a camera or a tweet, stars are automatically dating, pregnant, getting divorced or even worse, dead!

STORY: Nas Baby Mother Blast Him Over Daughters

I can’t count the number of times I’ve gotten a call from one of my friends saying, ‘Did so-and-so die in a sky diving accident?’

There’s a really simple method of how to tell what’s going on just by looking at pictures.

Let’s say a female celebrity packs on a few pounds and gets a bit more rotund in the waist area. There is a simple explanation for that: she’s obviously pregnant.

This is one of the main reasons why Jessica Simpson was pregnant for 18 months. We all assumed she was pregnant before she said she was pregnant.

DETAILS: Is Megan Fox Pregnant?

Should people be ashamed for jumping to conclusions? Hell no! It’s what we do, and it’s our right as Americans. No wait, it’s our right as humans.

There are rules to this though. If two celebs are standing next to each other on the red carpet, that doesn’t mean they are a couple. But if they are walking down the block together, they’re f*cking!

Alright, maybe that was a bit harsh, but two celebs walking down the block together is in the same category with two people kissing each other in the mouth; it’s safe to assume they are dating. Is it fool proof? No, but who cares!

Now let’s imagine that a celebrity husband and wife are in different countries promoting whatever it is they are doing. Then just because they haven’t been seen together, we can assume the worst. Take Will and Jada for instance: Will was in Costa Rica shooting a movie, and rumors broke out that he and Jada were getting a divorce. The happily married couple quickly shot down the rumors, but did people care? No! People still assumed their love was on the rocks. Why? Because it’s what people do.

Bottom line is, people love to make an ass out of u and me.

They assume.

Nothing is wrong with it, but if it begins to be too much, then I strongly suggest that celebs stop walking down the block together, going on separate vacations, or eating too many slices of pound cake after 10pm.

Sure, people could stop assuming total nonsense, but that wouldn’t be any fun, would it?
