Earlier this week, a video of a 68-year-old school bus monitor named Karen Huff Klein of Greece, NY went viral. The video shows the woman being maliciously verbally abused by the students she was watching over, subsequently sparking national outrage. Additionally, the vid led to a campaign on website Indiegogo.com to buy Klein a dream vacation.

As of Thursday evening, the donations amount has nearly reached $400,000. Klein had not heard from any of the boys that tormented her until Anderson Cooper read two of their official statements on CNN’s Anderson 360.

Wesley, one of the boys in the video, said in a statement issued by police:

“I feel really bad about what I did … I wish I had never done those things. If that had happened to someone in my family, like my mother or grandmother, I would be really mad at the people who did that to them.”

Josh, another one of the boys said:

“I am so sorry for the way I treated you.” “When I saw the video I was disgusted and could not believe I did that. I am sorry for being so mean and I will never treat anyone this way again.”

Klein was later asked if she thought the boys were bad kids, she responded:

“Not really, not deep down.”

Things continue to look up for the grandmother of eight, as Cooper announced Southwest Airlines offered to fly her and nine other people to Disneyland for free!
