<p>Veteran free-agent swingman Michael Finley(notes) has decided to join the Boston Celtics and will sign in the next couple days, his agent said.</p><p>Finley is expected to sign for the prorated veteran minimum. He will report to the Celtics on Saturday and could be available to play in Sunday&rsquo;s game against the Washington Wizards.</p><p>Finley and Celtics coach Doc Rivers attended the same high school in Chicago. Henry Thomas, Finley&rsquo;s agent, said Finley is looking forward to competing for playing time with the Celtics, but was not promised anything by the team.</p><p>&ldquo;It was an attractive choice,&rdquo; said Henry Thomas, Finley&rsquo;s agent. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s an opportunity to earn some minutes in the playing rotation. He still has some good minutes left and they are a serious contender. He has a lot of respect for their chances in the league. He has a lot of respect for Doc, and they went to the same high school in Chicago. A lot of respect for Kevin Garnett, and they were in the same draft, as well as Paul Pierce and Ray Allen.</p>
