<p>Veteran free-agent swingman Michael Finley(notes) has decided to join the Boston Celtics and will sign in the next couple days, his agent said.</p><p>Finley is expected to sign for the prorated veteran minimum. He will report to the Celtics on Saturday and could be available to play in Sunday’s game against the Washington Wizards.</p><p>Finley and Celtics coach Doc Rivers attended the same high school in Chicago. Henry Thomas, Finley’s agent, said Finley is looking forward to competing for playing time with the Celtics, but was not promised anything by the team.</p><p>“It was an attractive choice,” said Henry Thomas, Finley’s agent. “It’s an opportunity to earn some minutes in the playing rotation. He still has some good minutes left and they are a serious contender. He has a lot of respect for their chances in the league. He has a lot of respect for Doc, and they went to the same high school in Chicago. A lot of respect for Kevin Garnett, and they were in the same draft, as well as Paul Pierce and Ray Allen.</p>
